I seem to be having an issue with "Flatten and Cancel" keyboard shortcut.

I've assigned Ctl F to this function and it works as long as the position I'm in was enetered as the result of a limit order. if i enter the position via a stop (stop-limit), Ctl F does not Flatten and Cancel.

This caught me completely off guard today. i had to open the ATW and flatten via the button. cost me a few ticks. i switched to sim and tested it, same result. just tested again before sending this and it appears when i enter via the stop order, Ctl F won't cancel anything, including pending stop orders.

What you say here cannot possibly technically be accurate. And just to be extra sure, we tried to duplicate and could not. It would be impossible to duplicate this. There is another explanation.

If you want us to analyze the issue, follow the instructions here:

And yes, this is a billable analysis.

So I figured out today that this WAS a problem as late as version 1971, but corrected somewhere prior to v 1975. i downloaded 1978 today and it corrected the issue.

Just to be clear. When i would enter a stop limit order, the keyboard command to flatten and cancel would not flatten and or cancel.

Nothing changed with this functionality between the mention versions.

And also it is technically impossible for what you described to have ever been the case. There is some other explanation.

There is always a potential for a problem where a keyboard shortcut may not do anything in that there is no command actually issued at all but that is not dependent upon the order type for entering a position. The keyboard shortcut would not do anything under any condition.

Technically impossible or not, it is what was happening. I got my broker on a shared session and they were able to witness what was happening.

i agree with you that it SHOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE. Nonetheless, it is what was happening. The broker tried to recreate it on their version of SC and could not. That's when i compared the versions, updated mine to today's version, retested and found it was no longer an issue.

I have no idea why. And i don't believe there's anything i could have done to make it happen.

It only happened when i initiated a stop limit order. ???

There is another explanation. It could not be technically for the reason you describe. This is just not possible and we do not believe it.

It would be more likely the issue is what is described here:
