Text Tags on Exit Order

Greetings,

I am using a SpreadSheet System for Trading Study and trying to set a Text Tag (Cell J102) once conditions are met. These conditions are likely to become or remain true upon an exit order being submitted by my trading system. The issue I have is that no matter what I try to do, the text tag will not be written when an exit order is submitted. When I look in the Trading Activity Log, all my closing trades have empty notes in them. I have been troubleshooting this for a bit trying to isolate the issue with several iterations the formula and what it appears is that a text tag will be written only on an entry order. When I rewrite the formula to test for certain conditions to be true upon an open/entry order then the text tag is written. If the formula also contains conditions that will be true upon an exit order being submitted, the text tag is not written.

Is there any way to use a SpreadSheet System for Trading Study to conditionally write text tags upon order entry and exit instead of just an open/entry order?

I am not using the Buy Entry/Buy Exit/Sell Entry/Sell Exit columns of the spreadsheet. I am opening my orders manually via the trade window and using the Trade Management by Study to take me out of the trade.

I basically have a formula with multiple if statements that will write certain text if a trade is stopped out or target is hit. What will happen is that whatever conditions happens to be true upon the entry order, that is the text that will be written in text tag and shown on the note field in the Trade Activity Log. If a trade is already open and I hit my target and the formula state changes effectively to reflect this, the text tag will not be written on the closing order. I can visually see the formula status changing on the actual spreadsheet and still the text tag will not print to the Trade Activity Log.

Thank you.

This used to be the case but not in current versions. The Text Tag can be set from the Spreadsheet System for Trading study even for exit orders.

We have verified this.

The issue must have to do calculation order:

Thank you, the current calculation order I have for the Spreadsheet System for Trading study is last in the list of studies. Just wondering why it would set a text tag for an entry order but not an exit. Is there a way I can test this in my system like you did yours?

We understand the problem. The Text Tag is only going to apply when an order is submitted. If the exit order is already working and then gets modified by the Trade Management by Study, then the Text Tag is not going to get used.

Thank you. Would it be possible to add this feature? This would be useful as it would allow the user to programmatically label trades based off certain parameters. For me, I would like to label if a trade hit my Take Profit or did I get Stopped Out via my regular stop loss.

No this is not reasonably possible or consistent with how everything is designed.
