On each candle, if the open is above/below the previous candles close. I don't care if there is a wick and it opens next to it. I'm not looking for a true gap. only if a candle opens above the previous candles close, plot a dot underneath. If a candle opens below the previous candle plot a dot above. I don't need it to extend until it intersects. And that study misses many of the gaps I am looking for.

thanks

It sounds like you could just use the Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study with a condition that reads O > C[-1] and then set the Subgraph Draw Style to Point on Low for the Color Bar subgraph.

Refer to the following for the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition study:
Color Bar Based on Alert Condition

And also to the following for setting the Draw Style of a subgraph:
Chart Studies: Subgraphs Tab >> Draw Style

That's kind of what I'm looking for.

What about a single study that would alert condition if the current candle opens outside the range of open and close of the previous candle? High or low wouldn't matter, as long as its not opening in the body of previous candle? That might be better. thanks

You can do this just by changing the formula appropriately. Refer to the documentation here:
Color Bar Based on Alert Condition

Also, only post with your active Sierra Chart account. To do that, select Help >> Support Board.

That’s a bit confusing. Could y’all come up with what I’m looking for so I can copy and paste it. Like you did with the other one you gave me above. I would appreciate it. Thank you

It is definitely in your interest to spend a few minutes to look at the format. This is certainly not difficult. No one is going to agree that this is difficult. This is why we gave you the relevant documentation for the formula format here:
Study/Chart Alerts And Scanning: Alert Condition Formula Format

To compare this to Chinese is not fair. No one is going to agree with that.
