Hi. Can someone with coding experience tell me what would be necessary to change in Divergence Detector study to work with ZigZag study. If it is even possible?

I asked about using Divergence Detector based on ZigZag, but CS support said it's not possible because Div. Detector study uses high and low of bars in it's calculations.

So would it be possible to take existing code and modify it? Or a whole new divergence study would have to be made from scratch?

If it is possible to change existing code, could someone point me in the right direction as to what would have to be changed?

Thank you.

Divergence Detector based on ZigZag study?
true...is not possible without modification and with restrictions

Hi, Both are possible...

Send me Direct message what you need...

Was a "real" divergence study ever created? I would like to be able to specify whatever study I want to see a divergence with, like an ATR divergence for example. I thought I could do this with the built-in Divergence Detector but after looking into it, clearly it doesn't work the way any of us think of divergences.

Of course yes. For some questions just use google or search on youtube.

Here at the Sierra Forum you have a customized collection:
Here is a Divergence Study Collection

And the study is also interesting:
Knoxville Divergence
Add Custom Study button then select it in the User Contributed Studies

Thanks Ackin, I had already done a bunch of searching and even found that thread, but from reading it, it sounded like it was a specific MACD or Stochastic divergence study, neither of which is what I want. And the Knoxville Divergence is only for RSI.

I want to be able to simply define any study that I want to compare a divergence on. So for example price makes a lower swing low while ATR channel makes a higher low... that sort of thing. Does this exist?

Paid study probably yes. I've seen some videos on youtube. Is it universal? I can't say. You're right It was always related to MACD, which is most commonly used for divergence along with OSMA.

Until the end of the week, I can create a study ZZ Divergence according to the original requirement above. It's not hard, but now I'll be out of the office for 3 days, so after Friday and the next day it's possible ... if you wait for it ....In our forum , to which you have access, I will create a thread for this requested study. You can write everything to the thread what you need from the study. If there is feedback and brainstorming, then there is no problem to do new improvements of the Sierrachart.

I'm waiting for your comments. If the Divergence Detector doesn't suit you, I need to know what you want. The thread is created.
