I have Global Settings | Global Symbol Settings | Use Global Trade Position Limit set.

I made an order quantity error today which was orders of magnitude bigger than my Global Limit and my clearing firm contacted me.

I'm confused about why this order wasn't rejected Sierra side, but actually transmitted and only blocked at the clearing firm level.

Obviously it is my responsibility to be careful about entering orders but any additional protection afforded by the platform would be most welcome.

We are not aware of any problems with this functionality. We can also set you up with a simulated futures trading account where you can do a lot of testing with this functionality:

Were you reducing the size of a Position or increasing the size of a Position? Can you give us some numbers (What the setting was set to, and what the positions were, and what the order size was) so we can run a test. If you want to privately tell us you can do that through a ticket:
