Hello SC,

i want to create a 3 month chart but seem unable to.. as soon as i hit APPLY it reverts back to 1 month..

i am aware that i could use quarter as a workaround but it also doesnt work with 2 or 4 months.. that indicates a bug..

here's a short video with the issue

please advise.

thanks,
Andreas

It sounds like the problem is what is described here:

no it isnt.

that chart does not reference any other chart nor does it show me the described message.

however, it is linked to another chart with symbol and trade window, though that shouldnt affect the timeframe..

i can select a quarterly timeframe without any issues, just not a 3month chart or 2 month chart or whatever..

I think, its not supported...

It seems the only way to get units different from 1 working is choosing intraday data type or historical daily chart datatype. For example, you cant select Historical Chart Data Type and Weekly Chart Bar Period and choose a 2 as unit. As i understand it, you have to go with Intraday or daily Chart Data Type and then go with 14 Days.

it doesnt make sense for it to not be supported or there wouldnt be an input to select the length.. not to mention why i would be limited to a 1 month chart and not a 6 month or whatever when i can select a 5338 tick chart..

SC, anything?

The particular field you are trying to change only applies to Days. It does not apply when any other time period is selected. Therefore, if you want to display 2 months, you would need to enter 60 days. Refer to the documentation here on this:

that’s actually pretty awkward..

why would there be radio buttons besides an input field if the setting isn’t supposed to do what everyone would expect?

What do I doin February?

that wont work at all...

I think it isnt really working because months have different lengths. I would like to see this feature as well...doesnt mean i need it.

In my case, it would be nice to be able to play around with it a little bit. Just to see if i could utilize it. But would be a neat feature in general. So many approaches to trading.

I think it isnt really working because months have different lengths.

thats no reason, quarterly charts work out of the box.. and there's date functions to support different month lengths..
