using cloud for data folder?

Hi, I want to be able to have a consolidate folder for my chartbooks. Would I be right in thinking that I can use onedrive for my data folder? If I do this, will it bring up runtime issues when working with realtime data? I am thinking it wont given the if I place the data folder into a local one drive folder, it will read and write locally before sync with cloud. The workflow I am then desiring is that I could close my desktop SC and then open the cloud updated chartbook from the cloud data folder and have all the same work saved? Many thanks in advance.
