For anyone interested, if you are running Sierra Chart on Linux you can have dark mode. Here is how https://youtu.be/Z1PZql5V0n0

Thank you for the video. Looks like Sierra Chart is running quite fast on Linux over wine.

What is the current best system hack to get get rid of white chart boarders without using a high contrast Windows theme that interferes with spreadsheets etc.

1. Detach all the chart windows.
2. (Optional) Use WinAeroTweaker to reduce the 4px window border to 1px
3. Arrange the windows with Stephen Didak's Window Layout MAnager so that the borders overlap exactly. You'll need to specify x,y,width, height exactly - trial and improvement. You'll also need to specify a Title bar Name in Chart Settings (Advanced Settings 2) so the window manager can uniquely identify each chart.

Running Windows Server 2016 with this setup, can confirm performance is adequate when running 00s of detached windows under 5 sub instances across multiple monitors. Well done SC Engineering!

Hello.

Is there any news on a totally dark theme for 2020?

Maybe things are different since now Windows 7 is deprecated and the development of SC has focused on the 64-bit version, perhaps there is a way to focus on a true and modern dark theme on W10 taking advantage of future improvements in the dialog windows.

How is this matter?

Regards

I would also like to express desire for dark mode and full screen. These help immensly for non-distruction.

Maybe 2021 it happens?

Winaero tweaker -> Advanced Appearance Settings -> Window Borders -> Border Padding and Border Width set to zero.
Built in Windows 10 Dark Theme
SC - Color selections to darker colors

This appears to be the best solution and it's very close. The chart border colors, selected title bar and inactive menu bars appear to be the only settings you can't change (without High Contrast mode which has other issues as mentioned above).

If you primarily use one chart a simple fix is Window > Detach, and then Chart > Hide Scroll Bar and Title Bar. That will eliminate everything on your screen except the Windows start menu which can also be hidden. You can add buttons on a Control Bar to hide/show the scroll and title bars quickly if you need to.

Credit to User risk101 who alerted me of a new dark theme than what I had seen in this thread. It's pretty awesome and by far the best option for Windows users IMO. With most options above you could not get rid of the white borders with multiple charts/windows within a chartbook, this takes care of that.

Notes:
*Excel - It does turn the white background to a medium gray but IMO is fine, maybe even better than white. I tried the High Contrast dark mode option and found Excel et al., unusable.

*If you open task manager or update Sierra Chart you need to redo the dark theme and set color back to dark by right clicking on desktop > personalize > redo Penumbra theme and change color back to dark. Not a big deal take about 10 seconds.

Currently using penumbra 10 through deviantart and works well but how did you get the control bars and the chart tabs below to darken? I went to my graphics settings and it seems limited meaning I don't see anything to adjust them. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: If I remember correctly I think those colors are controlled via Windows. Right click desktop -> personalize -> then chose your windows colors

My windows color setting is dark. Hmm... @User908968 now I see why I feel my graphics settings are limited. I don't have those settings in there. What am I missing? I am running SC 2239.

I found a simple solution for this, Windowblinds, install dark mode skin. Costs $10 but totally worth it.

Hi Atmos37, I just installed WindowsBlinds on my Windows7 PC.
I setup a application specific style (Acrylic7) for SierraChart_64.exe.
Rebooted and launched SC, but nothing has changed...
Can you please explain exactly how you made it?
That would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
