The chart numbers cannot be changed but certainly the charts can be rearranged:

You can change the chart number using this process:

If there is no existing Chart#1:
-Duplicate Chart#3 (the duplicated chart will become the lowest unoccupied number.)
-Remove Chart#3

If there is an existing Chart#1:
-Duplicate Chart#1 (the duplicated chart will become the lowest unoccupied number.)
-Remove Chart#1
-Duplicate Chart#3
-Remove Chart#3

just curious...

does the chart number determine which chart gets updated first with live data? in notice some charts are more delayed than others

my interest is i want my chart with the dom to load the fastest out of everything else

thanks for the help!

No each chart is updated independently using an operating system timer event. The order of updating will be random unless you have set controlled order chart updating in the General Settings.

to the SC response for arranging charts - that doesn't seem to have any effect when the charts are Detached and then when I left click on the SC icon on the task bar (of the Windows OS) and get the list of all detached charts (that's a Windows OS function) - the charts in that list seem to be sorted by their SC chart number and any chart arrangement through the SC menu doesn't have any effect on that sorting

to tomgilb - thank you, yes I have arrived at similar process (which I was hoping was going to be only temporary but now it is clear this is going to be a permanent solution) - it consists of exactly what you have described but with the only difference that I use two chart books and just copy the charts from the old to the new chartbook in the order I want and hence they appear with the required sequence numbers
