Opening 2 specific instances causes lag, even though instances not connected

Hi,

I have 2 separate installations of Sierra. They have been working fine until today. The second was a copy of the c:/sierra directory and then i edited the global settings to make it independent.

Since today when I open up the first instance with chartbook loaded, it works fine and the charts have no lag (around 82ms) and work as expected. If I open the second instance * without * chartbook opened, the charts in the first instance work fine. However if I open a chartbook (very basic with 1 chart running market depth and volume) on the second instance then all the charts in both instances begin to lag like crazy (500ms-1000ms) and the interface is unusable.

I've tried rebooting, updating sierra (1880 to 1882), updating drivers, checking to make sure the sierra processes are running on separate CPU cores (I have a 16 core AMD processor). All seems to check out. I've also tried running a sub instance that is on the primary instance along with the second instance and they again cause lag to each other. But running the primary instance alone with it's sub instance causes no lag. So it appears that when the copied (secondary instance) is running, it causes any other instance or sub instance to lag.

Sorry if this is a confusing message, I'm happy to explain it again. Any idea what could be causing this? Only started happening since starting the PC this morning from last night and i've made no changes to the O/S before it started happening

Thanks
S

To the extent that this is caused by your computer system, we cannot help with that. It sounds like it might be. This is the relevant documentation to improve performance within Sierra Chart itself:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often
