Plotting user-defined range high/low on chart

I want to be able to plot the high and low from a user-specified time period (such as the first 15 minutes or first 60 minutes of regular hours), and have those levels extend for a user-specified time period (such as until the end of the trading day).

Using this same study one could also plot the overnight high/low and have them extend until the end of the following trading day.

I found the study "High/Low for Time Period - Extend" which will give me the opening high/low for the time period I set, but I can't seem to get overnight high low to work with them. I put a start time of 15:15:00 and an end time of 8:29:00 but it seems to cut itself off at midnight. Is there a way to get the afterhours high/low range to carry over into the following day's chart with a user defined stop time?

For example, in central time the market closes at 3pm. If price makes an overnight low at 10pm on April 8th, 2013, I want to have that appear as a horizontal line that extends at that level until the end of the trading day on April 9th, 2013.

High/Low for Time Period-Extended does exactly what you want. You also need to set the Session Times in Chart Settings properly. Please refer to the documentation here:

I'm trying something similar but can't figure out how. I want to plot the INITIAL SWING HIGH / SWING LOW from the open...then have extend line setting throughout the rest of the day. So that when price returns to those 2 specific SH SL levels I'll know. I can't use time-based cause don't know how long it will take for price to print the VERY FIRST Swing High and Swing Low.

Any ideas? :) Thanks!

Attached is a Study Collection that does this for Swing High between 09:30 and 10:30 each day and extends the lines through the end of the day. You should be able to get what you want starting from this. Note that you would need to setup another Color Bar Based on Alert Condition to do the Swing Low.

Refer to the following for how to use a Study Collection:

Thanks John. I've looked at this before and I'll try again, but do you think there's a way to limit signals and extension lines for all the SH/SLs that follow the very first two so that I'm not getting all the other ones all day long? I just want those first 2 SH/SLs.

I'm using the ZigZag study on an Aligned Renko 4T. Not a big deal...I can just hit the first two with a couple of horizontal extension lines and be done with it. But I love learning new things with SC.

You would have to try using the Spreadsheet Study to do this.

It could be done with 3 instances of the Spreadsheet Formula study,
or with 1 instance of the Spreadsheet Study study.

Post again if you want details.
