Textbook Row Ref using @ gives error (Bug?)

From what I can see I am exactly following this support article:
Working with Spreadsheets: References to Study Subgraph Columns when using the Spreadsheet Study

But whenever I try to enter ref to row using @, I start getting errors?

Am I missing something?

For Alert Formulas for a chart and a study you would need to use ID4.SG17[0] instead:
