GLD-CFD-SMART-USD-BAAVG
GLD-CFD-SMART-USD

GLD-CFD-ARCA-USD
GLD-CFD-ARCA-USD-BAAVG

Neither works

I all cases, I get the message: Symbol settings not found for current service

That message you can safely ignore. That is not relevant to whatever issue you are having. The symbol settings do not exist for those. But that is not an issue.

I don't understand what you're saying mate
There's GLD CFD in IB which I trade in IB directly.
How can I bring that symbol across to SC when connected to IB Trading Service? It's not finding it/not loading data.
Whether I type it in the quote board or search for it in Find Symbol...it's not coming up in SC.

Actually the problem may not be so simple by asking Interactive Brokers about the contract details because by default these symbols do not provide market data.

You have to be prepared to be tremendously frustrated and go through all kinds of difficulties when using Interactive Brokers. If you are not, then you are making a huge mistake by working with them and using their API with Sierra Chart. Be prepared to be terribly terribly frustrated and have all kinds of problems. That is a must.

We will have to look into this when we can.

Hi
Could there be any resolution to my problem?
I'm still unclear whether this can or not be resolved.
What I want to do is to trade GLD CFD from within SC... or any other CFD for that matter. I put above the GLD CFD symnbols I tries as example. SC is unable to load data. I'm subscribed to SC real time data service.
Please advise

Actually yes. We did update the documentation for this here:
Interactive Brokers Symbols: Accessing Market Data for CFD Symbols (Accessing Market Data for CFD Symbols)

And also made some lower-level code changes.

And it is important you are running the current version:
Software Download: Fast Update

We apologize for not updating this thread. We were meaning to but just did not get to it yet.

Hi there
Connected with IB Trading Service
Following your previous instructions I have specified in my chart:

Symbol: SPY
Trade and Current Quote Symbol: SPY-CFD-SMART-USD

I placed orders from my chart, all good, but now I got three issues:

1) my stop and take profit orders do not appear on the chart...only the active position at entry level:
http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1551986096431.png

2) every time I change symbol via the quoteboard and then come back to SPY symbol, I need to go to chart settings and add the CFD again under "Trade and Current Quote Symbol". Is there away to force it to stay like that so I don;t have to re-add it every time?

3) I believe SC allows to trade on the CFD this way, but the chart that is displaying is the SPY ETF, which is slightly different, which affects my exact price at which I trade. Is there away I can chart the CFD itself?

We hid the post. Basically we were complaining about interactive brokers garbage and to give us a chance to get to their garbage.

1. This is not something that should be a problem, even when using a different Trade and Current Quote Symbol. Check the order in the Trade Orders list:
Trading Information Windows: Trade Orders Window

Make sure the order has the same Symbol and trade account as the chart. For more information, refer to:
Chart Trading and the Chart DOM: Viewing Orders and Trade Position on the Chart / Trade DOM

2. We added a new step here to explain how to solve this:
Interactive Brokers Symbols: Accessing Market Data for CFD Symbols

3. Well obviously that's not the case. You need to ask Interactive Brokers this question.

w/r to the answer to 2)

I got the CFD's for two symbols:

underlyings: SPY and USO
If I type on the quoteboard SPY and USO, I do get the chart and following the method above I can get to trade the CFDs on these just fine.
However, if I were to try and find these underlyings from the symbols list under find symbol, I can not find them.
Nor can I add the CFD symbols under symbol settings so it's automatically loaded as per your answer (2) above, as these symbols are not in the list.
How can I find the symbols in the list so I can add the CFD setting to load automatically?

You need to manually add those symbols into the Global Symbol settings:

Hi.
W/r to this, from your manual:

Optional step: Select Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. In the list of symbols, locate the symbol or symbol pattern for the underlying symbol. Select the Additional tab. In the Trade/Quote Symbol box, enter the same Trade and Current Quote Symbol you entered at step 3. This allows that symbol to be automatically set whenever the symbol in the chart is set to that underlying symbol.

What I want is to have these two, for example:
SPY-CFD-SMART-USD
USO-CFD-SMART-USD

So, when I go to the SPY chart via the quoteboard linked to my chart, I want to trade the SPY CFD, and when I go to the USO chart, I want to trade the USO CFD.
Entering 'SPY-CFD-SMART-USD' on the SPY chart, what happens is that when then I move to the USO chart, it's the SPY chart that still remains specified.
Further, as per the help line above, it happens that the symbol that is found in the list is a generic '???', not the individual ETF instruments, so I have no ability to specify each ETF with sits corresponding CFD.

How can I get it all set up in such a way that every time I switch to USO and SPY I get their corresponding CFDs for chart trading?
thanks

If you want help with this this is chargeable at 75 USD per hour. We make no guarantee we can help you with this because of Interactive Brokers system issues.

Just let us know if you want to proceed. We see you have enough credit on your account already. Time estimate would be about 20 minutes.

And to be clear we would help with this with remote assistance and schedule a time with you. We also realize the documentation you quoted is not correct. Obviously you cannot set a specific symbol on a symbol pattern. So it has been updated.

It now says:
Optional step: Select Global Settings >> Symbol Settings. In the list of symbols, locate the symbol for the underlying symbol. If the symbol is not listed you will need to Add it. Once you have selected the symbol or have added it, then set the Trade/Quote Symbol field to the same Trade and Current Quote Symbol you entered at step 3. This allows that symbol to be automatically set whenever the symbol in the chart is set to that underlying symbol.
