Custom SCID file name corrupted on loading onto a chart

I have developed a suite of programs that create several SCID files, and I share those SCID files with a number of trading colleagues. For all colleagues, except one, the SCID files work correctly and can be plotted on charts without any problem.
However, for one user, when he opens an intraday chart and enters a symbol such as ABCD1, the name is automatically changed to ABCD11, or if he enters a symbol such as ABCD2 it is changed to ABCD12, and of course the chart in each case just shows an error message "symbol settings not found for current service" and remains blank. At the same time, a SCID file is produced in the Data folder for the changed name, e.g. ABCD11.scid, and it contains a header record, but no detail records.
We have tried downloading a new version of Sierra and set up a new instance with nothing other than the custom SCID files in use, and get the same name change behavior. We can't see any chart settings that appear incorrect or that would potentially result in SCID file name changes.
Do you have any idea what could be different on this one user's setup that would cause this problem?
Thanks.

the name is automatically changed to ABCD11
Are they using the Gain Capital Trading service with Sierra Chart? If so, it would seem to make sense that this would happen in that case.

Thanks for your reply. Yes they are using Gain Capital through Stage 5.
Can you explain why it changes custom SCID file names in that way, and is there a way to avoid the name change?

Sierra Chart needs to change the year part to a two digit year. Avoid using a number at the end or try prefixing the number with an _.

Just to let you know that a prefix of _ does not work, as it still changes ABCD_1 to ABCD_11. However, a suffix of any character works, so ABCD1M remains unchanged by the routine.
