wuld it be possible to combine a few ticks for thin products like DAX on number bars, same as done for VbP?

Absolutely, this is completely possible and I do this on both DAX and HSI. I believe it is documented by Sierra here: Numbers Bars: Adjusting Tick Size For Larger Increment |
