DPL Not registering sim trades

Hello I'm having an issue with my DPL, it seems to display the first trade I make upon opening the software then after that I make further trades and it does not register the profit or loss, any help appreciated thank you.

Hello, I think this is a software bug as the DPL should be registering trades since I am only on the sim, entering and closing sim trades in seconds and the DPL doesn't do anything, it used to work fine, I have not changed anything pertaining to those settings since the time it worked. I have checked over the trade activity log and made sure the correct sim account is selected and that no time settings are affecting it, I have cleared the trade simulation data, placed a bunch of quick sim trades, the order fill displays in the trade activity log showing the P&L of the closed positions yet for some reason this is not displaying in the DPL on my chart. :/

Are you referring to using Trade Simulation Mode?: Trade Simulation Paste here a copy of the Trade Statistics tab from the Trade Activity Log for the trading you are referring to. One problem is you are using the wrong profit/loss format. You need to set it to currency value: Chart Settings: Profit/Loss Format (List) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu) The documentation does explain this. And then you need to set the Order Fills Start Date-Time in that Trading DOM to: 2018-11-20. For the time you could just use 0:00 The documentation explains this as well. What did you set that to? So if the problem is then resolved, what is it that we are telling you here the documentation does not already say? We go through great lengths to make sure the documentation is clear. Hmmmm.. I did those things and the DPL started working again, amazing, only thing is for my scalping style I do like to measure in ticks, when I set it to ticks on the chart>chart settings>advanced settings P&L format and on the trade activity log P&L format it goes back to displaying "-1T" and doesn't register so while it can work displaying currency, something funny is still going on here when set to display ticks, same old dilemma.

Once recent change that is going to get reverted is the Daily Profit/Loss supports Ticks-Ignore Quantity but that is causing a problem and really is giving a result that does not make sense in some cases so we are going to remove that in the next release. You plan to remove it? it has always worked fine for me, biggest advice I can give you is this, when the last traded price was at the offer and you are filled long at the bid, it is incorrect for the open P&L to say you have "+1" tick, i.e. instead of just having a single last traded price there needs to be a bid and ask price that also calculates the spread if widened on thinner markets, this niggle only applies to open P&L of course, closed positions in DPL show up fine. Aside from using the currency format what previous version of Sierra chart can I possibly use that does support "Ticks ignore quantity" without this bug? The setting you want is this one: Global Trade Settings Windows: Use Bid/Ask for Open P/L Calculations (Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> General) Ticks - Ignore Quantity has never been previously supported with the Daily Profit/Loss as is documented here: Chart Settings: Profit/Loss Format (List) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu) In the version you are running it is though. It is not a bug, but it has been removed in pre-release 1846 because it does not really give the result users are probably looking for.
