For at least the last 20 minutes there has been no SC futures quotes/prints for CME group. Please advise.

Thank you.

It's not only CME, also others. It's clearly they are working on it now, there are some messages that make it throught.
Would be nice to have some official word on this.

We do see the data feed is working now. We need to contact Barchart about this. It looks like it was a network issue on their side.

We have heard from Barchart about this. They had a network outage with the CME B feeds. One of our servers uses the A feeds and the other server uses the B feeds. However, on the server which is meant to use the A feeds some of the channels were using the B feeds.

For example, the channel that carries the ES data. So some symbols like the ES were affected on both servers.

This has now been corrected.

There are the A and B feed so if one goes down, the other one is available.

The reason we do not use both feeds at the same time on both of servers is that it doubles the bandwidth and introduces packet loss and we want to eliminate that type of condition.

We are looking to automatically switch between the A or B feeds if one is down. We will get that implemented. This will minimize the interruption to under two or three minutes.

And we also want to point out an event like this is quite rare to begin with.

Cryptos such as XBTUSD-BMEX were also affected, unlikely they run over CME B feeds, right?

That does not make sense. That is a completely separate data feed.

Could be just an unusual coincidence, but it was indeed down at the same time.

We have implemented a solid solution to this particular issue and it will be released over the weekend.

This is a very rare event to lose either the A or B feeds from the CME. And when that event happens, it will be detected after 3 minutes and there will be an automatic changeover to the other set of feeds. We cannot make it instantaneous because we can only detect this type of condition by a complete loss of activity. And we think that if three minutes goes by, with no packets at all that that is an unusual condition.

And as we said before we do not use both sets of feeds at the same time on the same server because we do not want to introduce any packet loss or performance problems when we are trying to guard against a scenario that happens only .0001% of the time. It is not worth it.

We can only remember this happening this time, and once before which was at least a year ago. And that particular event, the origin of it was on the CME side due to a misconfiguration of one of their network switches. And what the origin was at this time, we do not know. Barchart only told us they lost the B feeds.

We have configured though each server to use a different set of feeds so there will not be any missing historical data in the event this happens again.
