Hi guys,

I have spent way too much time trying to get Sierra Chart's "Relative Volume" study to perform like Trader 29's "Average Volume at Time of Day" study, but to no avail.

To you geniuses out there, Is there a way to set Relative volume as per image attached? Where;

1. Translucent Fill Bottom is average historical volume at same period. 2 colors to differentiate if current value is above or below historical value.

2. Bar is current value. 2 colors based on +/-.

Appreciate any help please.

Thanks.

Look at the setup and settings in the attached example chartbook. The color bar formulas are on their Alerts tabs.

The Relative Volume study does not output the current Volume, so the Volume study is added to the same Chart Region.

To get two colors of the Relative Volume study's output relative to the current Volume, two instances of the Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study, in the same Chart Region, are used.

The Volume study needs to be below all of these studies in the Studies to Graph list.

The Relative Volume study is Hidden because the color bar studies have replaced its output.

Hi Tom,

Thanks and I appreciate your work.

However I could not get it to work as well as Trader 29 equivalence. The average volume for overnight session is too large and comparable to pit session, it cannot be right. Perhaps I will need to spend some time tweaking the RV study.

I think SC's technical team should come out with a simple alternative or upgrade the current RV usability. The current one requires too much work for a simple task.

Thanks anyways.
