Howdy!

It's most likely me, but....

I have noticed time gaps in candles (1m chart) (see attached).

This first showed up while I was superimposing a 5 min MACD on a 1m chart, there were odd number of 5m ticks on the 1 minute chart.
I would expect there would be 5 1 minute candles for each 5 minute MACD histogram tick, but alas there isn't (see attached).

Known issue?

Thanks,
Mark

This is impossible for us to comprehend from our perspective unless we actually examine this in detail and get the Chartbook. Our recommendation at this point is to enable Fill Blanks with Last Value with the Study/Price Overlay study: Study/Price Overlay Study: Fill Blanks with Last Value

Sorry, it is a tough one to crack, and, Fill Blanks with Last Value doesn't provide relief, that was the 1st state I used.

I don't mind sending the Chartbook, just let me know how.

If you put two charts in a chartbook
Then have the two charts relationship be 1:5 (1 minute and 5 minute, or 50 tick and 250 tick)
Then on the slower chart, either 5 minute or 250 tick chart, add MACD study

Then use the study which superimposes the slower MACD (5 minute or 250 tick) on the faster chart (1 minute or 50 tick)

If Fill Blanks with Last Value is enabled, you should have a 5 ticks of MACD histogram for 5 candles on faster chart (1 minute or 50 tick), 1:1 relationship
If Fill Blanks with Last Value is disabled, you should 1 tick of MACD histogram every 5th candle on faster chart (1 minute or 50 tick, 5:1 relationship

Neither of these two is true, the relationships are erratic or inconsistent

I hope this tutorial helps.

Thanks,
Mark

We would only look at this for an additional cost at 50 USD per hour. Let us know if you want to proceed.

Thank you anyway, but I do not wish to pay in addition to your salary, for you to root cause your own software errors.

You may wish to escalate this to level 2.

There is no software error here. If you do not recognize that, then there's nothing we can do about this. This Support Request is now considered closed.

One thing that we did not say is that probably this would not take us very long to figure out if it is something easy. Probably just less than 20 minutes. Then again we really do not know what is involved to accomplish what you want.

"There is no software error here" infers you have established the root cause, and it is me...which maybe the case, I am not perfect by any means, and SC is very powerful and complicated

Sorry of my explanation on how to set up the issue was confusing, it takes longer than 20 minutes to create two charts and 2 studies, then I would recommend bumping this up to level 2.

My expectation of having a 1:1 synchronization between a 50 and 250 tick chart or a 1 minute and 5 minute chart, maybe too much.

Thank you
Mark
