Hi:

I follow a trading room, and I use the Horizontal Line study to manually enter various key levels.
I currently use the Study Overlay script to refer to these levels in one chartbook.
Request:
Use Study Overlay script to update other charts in open chartbooks.

This will save effort and time.

Question:
Can I refer to the Horizontal Line script in multiple open chartbooks?

Setup:
If 3 open chartbooks, can I access the Horizontal Script in Chartbook 1 in Chartbook 2 and 3?

Work around:
I might create 1 chart, and then try a drawing link.

Thank you in advance for the help.

The best way to accomplish this is to use the Horizontal Line drawing tool:
Chart Drawing Tools: Horizontal Line | Horizontal Ray | Horizonal Line Non-Extended | Vertical Line

And then you can share that line among charts within different Chartbook's:
Chart Settings: Copy Chart Drawings from Chart #'s (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Drawings menu)

John:

Your solution will work and the reason I switched to script from drawing is I use the ABS value * tick function to alert me when close is near a level.
Formula: =ABS(C-ID5.SG2)<TICKSIZE*4 is TRUE. | Last Price: 2888.00

I use Color Background with alert to generate the alert.

The drawing function has various conditions (cross, equal, ect.) and can is there a "near to" condition with the drawing tool?

Thank you

You can reference the Drawing Tools anchor points and use those in an Alert formula and then use the same formula as you already have. For example, your formula would look like =ABS(C - UDID[35].A1) < TICKSIZE * 4 (where your drawing has an ID of 35). You will find the documentation for how to reference the anchor points of a drawing here:
