I have transferred a Sierra3.cfg file from another SIerra user, because I want the same Control Bar layout as they use on their platform. However when I transfer their .cfg file over and replace mine, it is not updating on a restart.

As long as you have replaced the file when Sierra Chart is not running, then when you start Sierra Chart it will definitively use that file and the settings in it.

Another way it can be sent is as explained here:

Hi
I transfered the files across again and seira charts were not open. Nothing happened , it is still blank when it should open. I deleted existing files and than copied across rather than replacing them and still the same problem. nothing is opening.

We do not know what you mean by this:
it is still blank when it should open.
