[User Discussion] - Auto Refresh of chart(s) ?

I have set up alerts on a short term (lower timeframe) chart; these alerts reference a higher timeframe chart. So when the HTF chart indicator changes that change is not always reflected on the short term chart; I have to refresh the chart to see the change.

That leads me to ask the question, is there a way to refresh a chart on a periodic basis?

If not, could any external tool be utilized to achieve this? Thanks.

gayer2428,
What SC version are you using and if its 32bit or 64bit?

There used to be a custom DLL named Kiwi`s Stuff2015.

There is a study within it called "Recalc" that will refresh the chart based on time selected.
That may provide you with what you need.

I have used it before and it worked great.

Thanks. I am on 1776.

I have downloaded the code, will check it out.

Will also check out the native fixes highlighted above. Thanks again.

User735640:

I have installed kiwi15 (recalc) study and I suppose it works "silently" because I don't see it repainting the chart. Is your experience similar? Does recalc work in the background without reloading the chart? Thanks.

The chart recal will happen at the number of secs you set it at. I have a 20 min chart with Murry Math levels on it and I overly the values from the 20min chart to a 1 min chart. I have the recal study on the 1 min chart and have it set to recal at 300 seconds.

This pulls the new MML values over to my 1 min chart and removes the old lines. Otherwise the old level MML levels will show on my chart and clutter it all up.

If the MML values have not changed, then it will appear that nothing has happen.

Thanks.

I understand the usage; no questions in that regard. My question pertains to the chart behavior; is the chart supposed to reload (repaint) when recalc happens? I ask because my chart doesn't reload at the specified interval (60 sec, default). Thanks.

By reload/repaint, I mean the chart behavior when you select Chart->Reload & Recalculate from Main Menu of SC. Thanks.

It uses the chart behavior of Chart-> Recalculate.

Ok, great. I saw the recalc happening as I watched closely (without chart reloading). Thanks for your support.

Anyone else seeing this issue with Kiwi Resync?

Resync of charts not working as previous (Kiwi's resync study)
