I just installed the latest SC version and saw that the account field is missing for CTS. I am using this field to differentiate between two different TST combine accounts, can't log on the second account anymore.

Just one more comment regarding CTS/TST. After the update, the account balance in Orders and Positions window, no longer updates (not even after a trade is complete). That means I have to manually calculate my account balance with the help of the Trade Activity log (trade statistics). Will this be fixed?

This is controlled by the server. So it is not something we can solve but we can let CTS know about this.

I just sent a message log for analysis. I am experiencing constant disconnections from CTS for the second straight day, to the effect I'm not able to trade. I even had my profit/stop orders cancelled with no action from me, and a naked position left in the system. Thankfully I was able to exit my position before the next disconnection.

I did not have any of the mentioned problems prior to the new FIX connection.

Thank you.

The problem with the handling of FIX messages with skipped sequence numbers has been resolved. Please update Sierra Chart by selecting Help >> Download Prerelease.

You should have received an update notice unless you have not recently restarted Sierra Chart.

In regards to orders being canceled, you need to ask your broker about that.

SC 1036
Unfortunately the disconnections keep happening multiple times per day (especially during busy market hours, news announcements and- strangely- many times when I submit orders. I have checked my internet connection and it it working fine at those times, and I also have CTS T4 running at the same time (and IB TWS for that matter) with no problems.

What is most upsetting and extremely dangerous is that I experience a lag in my SC charts with the CTS connection. What I mean is (and this happens in multiple markets but mostly with GC): I have an order submitted. I will hear the T4 platform fill my order (and surely I can see in the T4 chart that the market has visited my price) and SC will show the same price movement after many seconds- even half a minute later in some cases! Other times I experience no lag.

This has the obvious effect, aside from that I don't have a clue what is happening at the time, that I have an open position and SC has not transmitted Attached orders, because it doesn't know I am filled! So I have a position with no stops and I am waiting for SC to catch up so it can send the attached order. Sometimes I also get a disconnect from the server at that time and I have to scramble to the hideous T4 platform to manage things.

Now, of course I don't know who is to blame here (although I am confident T4 is to blame, as I never had a single problem like this with TWS+SC) but this need to get fixed, whatever it is.

Please let me know what data/logs I need to provide you to assist you in that.

Thank you very much,
Phaedon

If you update the latest version, the bandwidth used by the CTS T4 connection is less because market depth updates are not started unless they need to be and the number of depth levels is reduced to 5, assuming market depth updates are started.

We do not need any logs. CTS is aware of the issue. One suggestion we have for them is to use one connection for market data and another connection for orders.

One solution for now is to use our own CME data feed. The instructions can be found here:

Just installed 1048, no improvement, had 3 disconnections in 5 minutes and even when the connection is green the DF # is frozen. I'm running just 12 charts, no market depth or indicators of any kind. Also, just tried connecting with TWS, no problems whatsoever.

So, all your CTS users have the same problems? I do not see this reflected in the message board. Also, your CME feed is not a solution for me at this point as I do not wish to pay extra to have the basic functions of SC. Any other idea?

If it is not too much difficulty, you can use version 997 of Sierra Chart when using CTS T4 because that uses the older API which is more efficient. You can find a previous versions here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SCInstallerList.php

We had not realized that the new FIX connection would have such difficulty. However, CTS is working on it. We use a FIX connection with TT and that works well. Even our CME connection uses FIX and that is a very high-bandwidth connection receiving large amounts of market data with no delays.

Could you provide a copy of the Message Log, so we can get a better idea about the disconnections. We really need to let CTS know about this.

Privately send it to us by using the Send for Analysis button on the Window >> Show/Hide Message Log window. Let us know when you have sent it.

Hey phaedonk. Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I too am on the sidelines with CTS/Topstep because of OCO issues. Topstep is aware and just as SC, they recommended using SC 997. You may have to re-create your chartbooks if you launch a prior version. Good news is that you can install it in parallel to a different folder c:\Sierra997.

Thank you Bedhog and SC team for the downgrade suggestion, I've been running a new 997 installation for an hour and everything seems to be running perfect. Of course, due to the new chart naming convention I had to re-download the charts but it's no biggie. So, there seems to be a major problem with the FIX connection. Please give us an update when it is fixed.

My only problem now is that I had quite a few drawings on the old charts (with the FIX naming convention) and I have to draw them all from scratch now. Is there a solution to that?

Thanks.

We would like to let you know that the newer versions of Sierra Chart do support server-side OCO when using CTS T4 FIX.

We have looked at your Message Log and our conclusion is that the CTS server is having problems. We will be sending them some suggestions.

One solution with the chart drawings is to enable this option Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings 2 >> Show Chart Drawings for Different Symbols.
