CTS Low Cost Connection Model - Top Step Trader

Hi, I have been having issues with CTS route and order management not behaving as they should, as mentioned in your documentation. It is annoying and often leaves a naked contract or two open when I close my positions manually or through stops/targets. I trade through Top Step Trader and am currently in the combine. I asked their support if they allow the SC connection model as I understand that if SC handles the orders they should behave as expected. This was their reply. "Thank you for reaching out today. In short, you are welcome to try this other solution if you would like. However, we will not be able to update anything on our end to make this work. The technology required to do a major update is outside of our abilities at this time. If the work around can be done with a quick setting change on your end and we are able to see the trades still please feel free." My questions if you are able to answer in the context of trading through Top Step Trader; 1) will this low cost connection model work in the combine? 2) will it work in a live account? Thank you.

We are just weeks away from being able to offer to Top Step Trader a comprehensive solution which will not require CTS at all for futures trading evaluation. If they want to work with us on that, then have them contact us. We are not going to struggle with external service problems any longer. There simply is no reason to be using CTS or Rithmic for futures trading evaluation. We have a full solution and we are finishing up the details of it. But it does require cooperation of firms like Top Step Trader and the CME. We are happy to work with them. At this point, the choice is theirs. 1) will this low cost connection model work in the combine? Not really. It is for live trading. 2) will it work in a live account? Yes. Thank you for the response. Here's hoping they will utilise this as using CTS during the combine will generally result in a number of trades per day which are left open, which is annoying and a potential drag on performance which is what they are trying to evaluate.

Here's hoping they will utilise this as using CTS We do not think it is going to be difficult to convince them since there are only advantages. The main impediment is going to be the CME. Ultimately it will have to be Top Step Trader and/or some other evaluators which will have to convince the CME to not require our data vendor Barchart to collect exchange fees for the data for this. This is why there is such a frustration dealing with the CME. They are just too big of an operation. Similar to government, just too big and out of control.
