Q on Reversal Bars without Wicks

I have Reversal Bars with various (reversal bar - minimum length) settings on several instruments. But quite a few of the candles DO NOT have wicks on them, even tho I have it set to Candlestick Bars in the settings. They are "blunt" on both ends. Many of them look normal and have wicks, but others do not.

How and why does this happen? I don't understand how a candle can have no wicks if in addition to it's minimum length; it also has to reverse a certain amount of ticks before the next candle would form, and also why some of the relationships between the close of one candle and the open of the next don't make sense.... why the close of one candle does not match the open of the next candle.

I have read thru your documentation and explanation on Reversal Bars many times but there just is something I am not understanding.

Thank you for your help.

Not sure if this is related, but set Sierra Chart to a Tick by Tick Data Configuration. Follow the instructions here to do this:

Thank you for your reply regarding why some of the reversal bars do not have wicks. I have made sure that "Tick by Tick" is selected on all my instruments, and I have tried to read thru the Reversal Bar documentation to see if there was something I was not understanding; but I still have candles with no wicks on my reversal charts. This happens on all instruments regardless of the time of day.

I have attached 2 images of charts with Reversal Bar settings. 1 chart is of oil, and one chart is the Euro Futures and as you can see I have candles with no wicks...and I was just wondering how and why that could happen if, by definition, there needed to be a reversal before the next candle formed?

But this happens on all instruments when I put on Reversal Bars.

Thank you

Updated description:

When using a Minimum Length setting, as soon as the Minimum Length is reached, and if the price at that point is the specified number of ticks from the high if the prior bar reversed at the low, or from the low if the prior bar reversed at the high, then a new bar will be initiated which means that the opening can be the same as the closing price of the prior bar. This can mean that in the case of candlestick bars, that in some cases you do not notice any wicks for that subsequent chart bar.
