I'm not sure what the problem is - but I've been having ALLLL kinds of problems with my activity logs. Now it's showing all of my orders has having never closed. It's been happening where trades will upload as still open, even thoough they are closed.

I AM running sierra in two separate instances, and I used to be able to upload all trades from the subinstance, but now it won't let me.

I don't undersand what to do different. When I save the logs, I do a "save as" versus export, because export never worked - it would always foul up the logs.

What can I do?

First, we do not recommend that you do any importing of order fills. Not sure why you are doing that to begin with.

It sounds like you may have unmatched fills. Refer to:

This does not explain "why" it's happening. I've cleared the activity log several times - it's been exhibiting this behavior for the last two weeks.

As for why I export fills - https://www.tradervue.com/trades/import

I'm not understanding why SC is not recording all the activities. It doesn't make sense.

Additionally - the subinstance exports the activity log just fine using the exact same procedure.

You need to understand from our perspective, we do not understand what you specifically you are doing and what specifically the problem is and how you come to that conclusion.

So when you look at the Trade Activity Log, are you referring to the Open/Close field for a particular order fill? We would not expect there to be any problem with that for a particular order fill in the case of simulated trading. Refer to the description for that field here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TradeActivityLog.php#TradeActivityFields

If you are having a problem, there must be something nonstandard that you are doing and this is what we are not understanding.

I actually completely understand that. It's why I tried to fix it myself several times, and updated the software before I said anything.

Here's what we know...

It WAS working.
It STOPPED working.
It IS working in the subinstance, but not on the parent instance.
I'm professing that I've changed nothing in my process and even showed you the documentation from Tradervue on how they say to upload the logs.

My process is, once the trading day is complete, go to trade, activity log, select "today", apply, 'fills', and then edit, save as. That's the entire process I've been following for almost a year now. I need help digging into this.

This is what we KNOW.

What else can we investigate?

Here's today's logs - I even cleared the logs for Gold and started again. For whatever reason, the GOLD charts on the parent instance are NOT closing trades.

Again, the subinstance is working fine, the parent instance is not.... I'm running out of ideas to try.

I'll also add in - I installed SC in a dropbox folder to ensure everything was always updated no matter where I used it;

I just re-tested my original location and the activity log seems to be working just fine...still testing.

I switched back to my original installation and the activity logs appear to be working fine...I'm just not sure what's going on. It's obviously disconcerting.

This is what we determined:

We did simulated trading in the main instance of Sierra Chart and also a sub instance of Sierra Chart where the order fills are being recorded in both the sub instance and the main instance. The open/close field was correct for trading in the main instance and also with trading in the sub instance. When trading from the sub instance, the open/close field was correct both in the main instance and the sub instance.

What we recommend that you do is clear the trade activity data for the particular Symbol and Trade Account you are using:
Trade Activity Log: Clearing Trade Activity Data

Or use a different Trade Account.

We did see a problem with importing order fills. In recent versions that began to not work due to a small programming error which is now fixed and will be out in the next release.
