I just updated to version 1748 and Sierra chart is not functioning. It just comes up blank and I can't open a chart book. It will let me build new charts.

Restart Sierra Chart and then open one of the existing Chartbooks. Provide a copy of the Message Log after, if the charts you expect to be there are not.

Here are the instructions to provide the Message Log:

There are also backup chartbooks available. Follow the instructions here:

It sounds like there might be a problem with the Chartbook.

I realized this morning that I had installed Bitdefender antivirus software Friday on my computer. It saw Sierra Chart as attack software and blocked it. I have uninstalled bitdefender but Sierra Chart still won't boot and connect. I tried to bring up a backup chart book as suggested in your third reply and Sierra Chart doesn't respond, it just makes a ding sound when I try to click on it anywhere.

Sierra Chart seems to be completely inoperable, it is completely frozen. Should I reinstall it?

Start Sierra Chart in safe mode and do not open any charts:

Do you still notice Sierra Chart is frozen?

Okay this is good.

Normally something reinstalling should not be necessary but as long as it is working for you that is what counts.
