I would like to know how to remove/disable the highlight box that appears when hovering the cursor over a level in the buy/sell columns in the trade DOM or if you will make it possible. Very distracting.

I have done searches in on the forums and the documentation with no satisfactory answers. The only thing I saw that came close were inquiries as to how to change the color of the highlight box.

The highlight box is redundant as the last price traded and the highlighted bid/ask price levels are highlighted as well.

thanks for your consideration...

There really is not a way to do this on the Trade DOM. We will have to consider this. But you can always change the color to a less noticeable color. This can be done through Graphics Settings:

It can be done on a chart but that would also disable trading.

Thanks for your response.

I tried changing the color but the problem is the recent buy/sell volume columns which I place (as is the norm) between the buy/sell columns as this is where the crux of using a trade dom is focused. Where price and volume meet to determine the direction of the market.

When I change the color a completely different color outlines the recent bid/ask numbers. Those quickly changing volumes are tightly bracketed by the horizontal lines of the highlight box which are a darker color than the highlight box color setting. I have found no way to adjust these colors.

I will have to believe you when you say there is no way to accomplish making the highlight box go away as I am not a programmer.

As an alternative would it be possible to alter the highlight box so it corresponds to the height/width of the cells formed by the columns and rows as opposed to the size of the font? It is the tight bracketing of the numbers which creates a large amount of the distraction.

Or, ideally, to change the highlight box to a user controlled background highlight color that corresponds to the height/width of the cells formed by the columns/rows.

I think Sierra Chart is a lean and fast platform, but when using the Trade DOM along with all the other great tools you provide it all comes down to the last visual perception on the screen to the eye to the brain to the mouse click.

Anything that interferes with this sequence of events is a distraction (lost money).

With respect, I believe the implementation of any of the above requests will only make Sierra Chart a visually better user experience.

Hi @User626032,

In order to get rid of those highlight boxes you will need to set the following to all be the same color in Graphic Settings:
- Trade DOM Last Price/Quantity Background
- Trade DOM Buy Column Lines
- Trade DOM Sell Column Lines

Cheers!

Anyway, we are going to implement an option to limit the highlight box to just the buy and sell columns.

An option would be great. It would be important to make the highlight box correspond to the height/width of the size of the box, not the size of the font.

Thanks for responding to my dilemma and making Sierra Chart even leaner and cleaner.

Best Regards...

I wanted to see if there is any update on being able to remove this highlight box from appearing other than what was suggested above ? Since the post is from 2018
Thanks

I would also be interested in a way to turn off the highlight box on a Trade DOM. Or even just a way for the box to stop flickering when the mouse moves inside it.

I was able to make the box not visible by using the instructions above which is to set the Trade DOM buy and sell column lines the same as the background. For me that did the trick. I am using a black background on a Chart DOM. But this method of "coloring out" the box to make it not visible - works,
