Please make"Use same size for control bar buttons" applicable to both the enabled and disabled state for the selected control bar.

We are not understanding this at all.

When this option is enabled, the control bar buttons are all the same size.

One should be able to enable and disable the same Custom Button without moving one's mouse on the screen.
Differences in the the size of the Button's "Enabled State" and "Disabled State" result in big differences in the button sizes.
The attached screen shot shows the differences: 1st tool bar is with the Button#15 is enabled. All the visable buttons are the same large size.
However the 2nd tool bar with Button#15 disabled, all the visable buttons are the same size but are much smaller than the 1st tool bar.

None of this is making any sense to us. What are you doing to cause these buttons to change size? On the first Control Bar you have a much larger button with wider text. So why are you asking us about this?

You are in a far better position to answer this, understand it and deal with it. This is for you to solve. Not us.

What are you expecting from us? We have no idea.

Before you post, you are given a message about "thinking twice".

If "Use same size for control bar buttons" selection, set the same size for both the "Enabled" and "Disabled" states in the tool bar, the problem would be solved.

Whether a button is enabled or disabled it does not change its size. You can see that. The image that you provided, shows buttons with different text. Are you changing the text of a button?

A very good example of this, is just close the Chartbooks and you will see many control bar buttons get disabled but the size of them do not change.

Also if you are programmatically changing the text of a button often, that is something we need to make much more efficient because right now it is not an efficiently handled process but will be with the new Control Bar we are finishing development of.

Thank you. I look forward to the improvements.
I have a study that records whether a custom button is enabled or not.
I use this study with a spreadsheet trading system. The trade pramaters are driven with the custom buttons(Long/Short, Market order/Limit order etc.)
I have attached two screen shots, with the only difference between them is that the 3rd button on the 3rd row down (close of bar) has been enabled.
As you can see the complete tool bar extends much furthur to the right. (The black buttons are in developement)
The problem that this causes is when you enter a trade you are watching the trading screen with your mouse placed on the button you want to select. You select that button, but to deselect that same button, you have to move your mouse, as all the buttons in that control bar have moved and this causes errors.
I have spent alot of time trying to get the Button lables to be the same size, but it is difficult as the "space" that a Capital "L" letter occupies is different to the "space" that a Capital "I" occupies is different to the space that a small letter occupies and so on.

This for you to solve in the way you think is right. Use a fixed width font for the Control Bar:

Hi there. Do you still have a study that records whether a custom button is active or not? If so is that available by chance? I'd like to send that info to my spreadsheet. Thank you.
