CTS Demo Trading Demo - DTC Historical Data Download Looping

At first I noticed, after converting from DTN IQ Feed, that the SC data download connection on this service setting was taking a few minutes longer to populate and prepare the data on my NQ Chartbook.

Now, I'm finding that this Demo connection is basically "looping" over and over with the same messaging. Was happening for over 70 min this morning and is happening now for over 20 minutes. Not only is it too long to wait for data prep, but it makes the SChart GUI almost non navigable while data data is downloading.

I've lowered my History and Tick retention, turned off the FIX API Logging checkbox and even shutdown and deleted all my *.scid files. This is still being problematic.

I would like to fix this issue before moving forward with a LIVE Connection to CTS T4 Dorman.

Have you seen this issue before on "CTS Demo Trading Demo - DTC Service?
The logs go on and on and on ....how much log history would you want?

Make sure Sierra Chart is running at this time, we have requested the Message Log.

The excessive messages in the Message Log are from a custom study. Run Sierra Chart Safe Mode:

Sierra Chart - Software Login Instructions: Using Safe Mode

There are many historical data downloads but this is not necessarily anything unusual based upon the number of symbols being tracked and any reconnects that have occurred.

In general, looping of historical data downloads simply cannot occur unless there is continuous re-connections to the server. If Sierra Chart is freezing, that potentially can lead to the issue.

You are not running Sierra Chart in safe mode! That is clear. The problem is because of a custom study and we are declining further support on this . You need to use Safe Mode and stay there until the developer of the study resolves the problem.

Follow them.

Understood. I didn't have the option at work to run again and need to start my trading server back at home in the "mode" denoted and send you a message log under that scenario. I will do that tonight, thank you.

You are most definitely not going to have any problem like this when using Safe Mode.

Therefore, we are not going to need to see the Message Log.

Ah, I just saw your note about the issue not being reproducible in "safe mode" and another log wouldn't be necessary. I am curious if you could assist, from your earlier analysis, which vendor contributions are causing the most deleterious delay in opening the chart book.

The finals resolution ended up being a corrupted chart book. Once I rebuilt the chartbook, chart and vendor indicators from scratch, the download time returned to normal levels < 1 minute.
