SC + Rithmic -> accessing an old futures contract

Hello SC, i am using SC with the Rithmic datafeed and want to open a specific futures contract.. this is no big deal for those >= 2010, e.g. ESH8-CME what translates to ES March 2018 but i dont know how to open a contract pre 2010 like March 2008 for example. ESH08-CME doesnt seem to work. Any advise? thanks, Andreas |

Hello SC, that doesnt seem to work... i've tried ESH8 and ESH08 - while ESH8 at least tried to load data and then threw an error, ESH18 didnt do a thing... see log: ESH8 1 Min #1 | Reloading chart. | 2018-01-02 14:00:59

Only use the symbols you find in File >> Find Symbol. do not manually enter them unless they are stock symbols. There is not data available for ESH08 with the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service. very funny, SC.. i specifically asked for ESH08 data and you suggested to use the SC historical data service... so, is there no way to load up a ESH08 contract? fun fact: i have the data locally available and cant access it... |

Yes, because we did not check to see if that contract was available. The answer and the documentation was in relation to the fact that you needed to use a service which supports two digit years. how far back goes the history you offer? file -> find symbol obviously wont help me with that as it goes as "far" back as sep 2017 which obviously would be a bad joke if you wouldnt have further back data available.. |
