I have a customer who claims he has a gap in his bond (ZB) chart due to rollover. has deleted all data and downloaded, see below, claims the daily chart has a gap as well

When looking at the ZB chart there is a gap since yesterday due to a new contract being traded. When you plot this chart, do you also see this or is it just me? Of course, this is the same in all time frame below one day.

I keep having these problems when the contract changes for almost two years now. I keep asking but I still do not have an answer.
Fact is it messes up the whole chart as there is a gap. I do use ‘continuous futures contract - date rule rollover, back adjusted’.
NG also had a gap when the contract changed a couple of days ago.

If I get this right you want me to update the chart to show the rollover date. I did. The gap is exactly at the location where the new contract comes on. I'm not sure what I've/we've learned from that.
Please advise.
Thanks.

It is essential we know where there is a transition from one contract month to the next and what particular contract month it is. Otherwise, we are just making guesses. This is always very essential for us.

This is what we see:

Follow through the instructions here to re-download data for at least the last two contract months:

This last instruction set fixed the issue. The gap is gone. I tried it on ZB and ZN.
Do I have to do this now each time a contract changes?
How come it does not happen automatically?

Thank you.

No you do not.

The other question is simply too involved to answer, when a problem arises.
