Trade IB indexes using Sierra data

To trade forex symbols I look at the 'IB Forex' category. No problem. But when I load charts from 'IB indexes' the data is terrible. What category do I use to load and trade CFD indexes? Like USD, Dax, Cac40 etc? |

I trade with IB + SC data and in File / find symbol I have 'CFD' in the list, with different entries : GER30 for DAX, FRA40 for CAC40, SPX500 and US30, etc. ... Of course you have to set permission for CFD in IB account manager. |

I never traded CFD with SC. I only did 2 with IB. I trade futures rather than CFD due to the cost of CFD being quite high with IB. I do not see advantages of using CFD with IB rather than futures, except maybe the small size of the contract (hence trade management is easier). A bit off topic, but if you see some other advantages please let me know (maybe mp if this is possible ?) Regarding sending trades on futures to IB TWS using SC, I recall encountering 1 or 2 small problem linked to order expiration horizon : GTC or day, evening session, something like that. I do not remember the exact pb, but remember that it is easy to solve by checking the log file, thinking a bit and adjusting some parameters. I use GTC for timeinforce. Also, my settings are to use IB side attached orders rather than SC side attached order, as I prefer orders to be stored server side, and have encountered no problems with that. |
