Hello Sierra

REF - Since Last 2 Sierra Updates
1. The Sheets within a file can only sometimes be moved using the tabs along the top - but often stay stuck in position
2. Sheet #1 stays stuck on the first tab and I must close down the File and reopen the file to move it

Any comments please
Regards, Mark B

We do not know what is meant by "Sheets with a file".

Are you referring to Spreadsheets? Those never were able to be reordered on the MDI window tabs by dragging. The capability simply never existed.

Sierra - Please see the topic

REORDERING THE CHART TABS
General Settings Window

To quote - "To reorder the Chart tabs by dragging, simply click and drag a tab to its new location. See image for further clarification". This section does NOT work properly since the updates as discussed in my thread

Thanks - Mark

We tested this and we see no problem dragging a chart tab. Does anyone else have an issue?

Spreadsheet Sheet tabs cannot be moved.

No issues with moving/reordering Chart Tabs in v1624 for me.

If I open and close Sierra completely, then sometimes it will work. Is there a cache that maybe needs to be cleared?

No, there is no such thing as a cache like this at all.

Also you cannot move Sheet tabs. The original post is about moving Sheet tabs and that is simply not supported.

Hello Sierra

To reiterate
YOUR TOPIC - "REORDERING THE CHART TABS" at General Settings Window states "To reorder the Chart tabs by dragging, simply click and drag a tab to its new location. See image for further clarification".

My point is that
(a) This is only sometimes working if I close and open sierra again
(b) Chart Sheet #1 (NOT SPREADSHEET) often freezes at the first left hand position unless I close the chart and open it again

But this has only happened after the last 2 updates

Thanks - Mark

OK now that we have confirmation that this is not an actual Spreadsheet Sheet, we can now reproduce this.

We will see why this is happening.

Hello Sierra

Did you ever try to resolve this issue - I still have great difficulty in reordering charts as per the original problem. I oftne have to close and reopen the charts to allow sheet #1 to be moved. Also if I've used the Study/Overlay (Study) it will not let me move the first tab at all even after I have deleted all the Study/Overlay (study)!

Thanks - Mark

We did look into this and were able to reproduce it once but not again which was necessary to isolate the cause.

It was not easy to determine the cause and the area of code related to this has to be rewritten. We will get to this as soon as we can. Allow about another 30 days.

To reorder charts, use Windows >> Windows and Chartbooks:
Window and CW Menus: Windows and Chartbooks (Window)

We do not see how the Study/Price Overlay study is related to this at all.

This problem is now resolved.

The code was greatly simplified and it is now extremely unlikely/impossible a problem like this will exist. Use prerelease 1683.

We are also going to release support for reordering Chartbook tabs.
