On thur. I tried to roll from sep to dec in ZB but it gave me (what looks like) the dec only plus no roll date/line either. I read and followed documentation several times. symbol settings>update from server ; set rollover rule>not defined ; checked> Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart;
set session time> 17:00:00 to 16:59:00. Chart Settings> 120 days to load (also used 60 days) ; Automatically Rollover Futures Symbol ; Continuous Futures Contract - Volume Based Rollover, Back Adjusted ; Apply Intraday Session Times to Intraday Chart ; automatically rollover futures symbol. Global/general settings> Detect Rollover Of Current Futures Contracts Symbols Based On Real Time Volume. Edit>> Delete All Data and Download. 'delete all data and download' just made it 'more worster yet as some would say'. Can you tell me how to get it right.

Could you tell us the exact symbol of the chart so we make sure the rollover rules are properly defined for it.

Based upon what you say, we think these would be the relevant instructions for this case:

I am rolling from ZB.20170900.CME_F [CBV] to ZB.20171200.CME_F[CBV].
Do I need to delete each of these files in the Sierra >data folder and open a new chart with the sep then roll to the dec? I have already done Edit >> Delete All Data And Download but that makes the chart with even less bars.

No.

Follow through the step-by-step instructions here:

Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Re-Downloading Continuous Futures Contract Data

The instructions do not simply say to use Edit >> Delete All Data and Download. Please follow through those instructions so we know that they have been done and if you still have a problem, post an image of the chart by following these instructions:

'Edit >> Delete All Data and Download' opened a SC window that says: Confirm Intraday data download for ZB.20171200CME_F starting @ 2017-09-21 19:00 yes / no. The window shown in the instructions #6 does not open.
This is what had already happened but I did not explain. 'no' closed the window and 'yes' reduced the number of bars.

I started using a demo act. then switched to paid using CTS. I did not uninstall or delete files from the demo. Is there any chance of symbol conflicts.

The issue has been resolved. The Rollover Rule needed to be enabled in the Symbol Settings.
