1.) I cannont make Sierra connect to Bifinex - It does connect to Bitmex OK.

2.) Bitmex pays a market maker commission for limit orders, but Sierra is changing the orders to stops sometimes (which obviously are market taker orders and cost commissions).

How do I prevent it from entering stop orders on the DOM.

There seems to be a setting for it, but I can't figure it out.

Obviously if I click far out in the depth, then I want a stop, but if I am close to the bid / ask I want to join the offer or join the bid ... not put in stop losses.

Your Sierra Chart account is expired so how is it you are able to use BitMEX?

OK, then login with that account by using Help >> Support Board on the Sierra Chart menu.

In regards to the questions in the first post, first, Sierra Chart will not change an order type.

But you need to understand, how order types are determined on the Chart/Trade DOM.

from what i am experiencing it's completely random... sometimes i put a limit close to the bid to scalp and exit and it's a limit and other times it mysteriously becomes a stop. i don't use stops, i don't want any stops ever..... a stop costs the same as a market order on bitmex so if i want out carefully i use a limit and if it want out fast i use a market.

i see what the issue is and why it only occurs sometimes....

it's based on the last trade and since bitcoin is volatile and relatively thinly / intermittently traded.... sometimes the last trade is miles away from the bid / ask and is irrelevant....

so it sees my order is the wrong side of the last trade... whereas it would be more logical the bid / ask, not the last trade.... and it thinks to put a stop..... i will try to play with the settings...

does sierra work with bitfinex ? i can't make it connect...

1. We apologize for not answering this earlier. Sierra Chart does provide market data from Bifinex, but not trading functionality.

Yes. That makes sense. For live trading you do need to set the Service to BitMEX.

You will need to install another copy of Sierra Chart for this:

You are not logged in with your account you are using with Sierra Chart. To do that select Help >> Support Board from within SC.

Anyway, you need to use a separate installation of Sierra Chart for each different Service in Sierra Chart that you want to use.
