I'd like to hear an alert when my orders are filled, but i don't want to hear a ping for each contract, and pending contract.

if i have an order pending for 4 contracts and i cancel the order, i hear 12 pings, one for each pending contract and child contract. is there a way for me to limit that to 1 ping? "One ping only please" ;)

When you have enabled an alert for canceling an order, then when multiple orders are canceled there will be an alert for each order. It is not based on order quantity.

When you have enabled an alert for an order fill, then when an order fills, there will be an alert for each order fill.

None of the above is easy to change. It actually gets very complex and there are no changes planned.

Also make sure for the particular Alert Number being used for the order related alerts, that the sound file is only played once. Refer to:

Thanks.

I would have to disagree with your description of how many times the alert is sounded. My scenario uses 1 order placement that incorporates 4 contracts and attached orders. The system is not playing one sound per order, but rather one sound per contract. if i place one order for a 4 lot, i will get 4 sound repetitions. And if i cancel (assuming i have alerts set to notify on cancel), i will get 12 alerts, one alert for each contract regardless of how many resting "orders" they are contained within.

I hope i'm not sounding like i'm splitting hairs, this is not my intent. but alerts functioning in this manner is extremely annoying and forces us (well, me anyway) to disable the alert, which is not the preferred option, obviously.

I had already reviewed the documentation you posted, and the # of alerts was set to "1".

So is it correct to assume that no matter what alert sound i use, it will be triggered based on the number of contacts filled, or cancelled? Even if i were to create my own wave file that said "Order Filled", that too would repeat it self four times on entry of a 4-lot?

We are correct in what we said. But you may not be aware of how many orders there actually are.

if i place one order for a 4 lot, i will get 4 sound repetitions.
Is this when there is an order fill? There will be a separate alert for each individual fill if there are multiple partial fills.

And if i cancel (assuming i have alerts set to notify on cancel), i will get 12 alerts,
Check the number of orders there actually are in Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Orders.

Also if you are running multiple instances of Sierra Chart, connected to each other, then this can increase the number of alerts if they are using the same trading related alert settings.

We do not disagree about what you say about having multiple alerts, but it is very difficult to resolve that.

I have the same problem.

I've set "number of times to play this alert" to 1 and I get "order filled" for each contract in my order.

It's annoying.
