I have been through the notes on connecting iqfeed and Interactive Brokers - each individually connect ok. However I need to use iqfeed for my chart data etc. and IB just for trading/orders, and I have not been able to find info on how to set that up. Many thanks.

This is not supported in the same way as it is with the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed.

It is a little more involved. Refer to:

Thanks, so to do this it looks like I should

1. Install a second instance of Sierra
2. Configure the second instance for iqfeed
3. Set the first instance to "Use non-chart data from remote instances"
4. Select the chart symbol in the first instance from the remote instance symbol list

Should then be able to trade using the IB connection in the first instance with the chart data coming from the remote instance using iqfeeed

Can minimize the remote instance just to have it running in the background?

Many thanks

I got it working for connecting to a second (installed) instance but I have to set my data feed to the "sub instance" and then I have no functionality to connect to IB for trading. Not sure what I am missing.

OK found that - the second instance now appears in the drop down when I change the chart symbol. When I select to place an order on the chart it prompts me to confirm for IB and the order shows on the chart as "sent" but TWS does not get it - it does not appear in TWS at all. Could it be that the symbol name is not correct for IB as iqfeed uses different ones?

OK I think I found that too it looks like its working when I set the "trade and current quote symbol" to the one for IB.

It works live, except its not applying the commission which I set in the symbol list for the IB master symbol.
