What does this particular study do differently than the Sierra Chart Zig Zag study?

Do you have the source code for this study?

SIERRA CHART ENGINEERING: It is actually an oscillator thtat goes below the chart leaving it chean
I found this now
http://www.sawtoothtrade.com/free-stuff-8.html
but I don't konow how to deactivate the automated spreadsheet creation, and also it doesn't work toghether with other studies like Initial Balance or Volume profile and others. I don't have anything more than the file I attatched.
I'm not a programmer, but I'm pretty sure it is something very easy to code... I think you should add it to the default Zig Zag indicator.

GANZ: Tks a lot for the link I'll try to figure out and make it work :)

We are releasing version 1552 now which supports the Zig Zag oscillator.

We still need to prepare instructions for how to use it.

Great,
it is a very simple thing, but I think it will be well appreciated by many Sierra Chart users.

Hi,
set it up the zig zag oscillator as said on the instructions but it shows up like the one attatched showing only the reversal value instead it should show the zig zag value for each single bar.

ZIG ZAG OSCILLATOR AS IT SHOULD BE

Let me know if it is just some wrong setting

I'm realizing that the new Zig Zag oscillator is not working properly.
As you see on the attached image the zig zag oscillator is not reflecting exactely what is happening, it should measure exactely the rotation of the zig zag indicator (it is setted exactely as the oscillator) I've put some vertical lines where it starts a new rotation on the other direction, the oscillator is not turning... it seems there is a sort of lag problem.... and on every rotation there is the same problem.
Please let me know
Regards

Really the only logical conclusion is that there are different Input settings for those two different instances of the Zig Zag study. The Zig Zag study which is displaying the oscillator, needs to have identical settings as the main Zig Zag study in Chart Region 1.

Check them again. We cannot reproduce the issue.

Hi,
tks for the reply.
The point is not the settings that I assure you are exactely the same but the fact that the zig zag indicator is working fine and the oscillator is not.
I've canceled the zig zag indicator and now on the attached image you see only the oscillator, as you can see it doesn't work properly for 2 reason:
1) the vertical white lines show where a new rotation starts but as you can see the oscillator doesn't change the direction as it should it continues to go higher or lower I don't know for what reason
2) If I make the setting as you see, (calculation mode 3 and rotations for at least 3 ponts) the zig zag indicator works properly, showing only rotations bigger than 3 points but the oscillator, with the same settings shows also smaller rotations.
You can check by yourself also picking the same exact settings and make a zig zag indicator on region 1 and a zig zag oscillator on the region 2 you will see that they don't match.
Anyway the main issue is that the oscillator is not turning when it should.
To make easier calculation consider that every brick is a full point.
Please let me know
Regards

Using the same Chart and Zigzag study settings you are, we do not observe an issue:
http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1498243673640.png

This is testing on 1573 but the version you are running 1568 should be the same. There have been no changes to this study.

If you still see a problem you will need to provide us a Chartbook with one chart containing two instances of the Zig Zag study. One for the Zig Zag lines and one for the oscillator.
