Sierra Chart extend trial and testing

Hi, I currently have an trial account in expired mode. I actually didn't evaluate very well Sierra Charts, but I would like to test it better now.

I am interested, but only if working with tick and volume candlestick charts with an fxcm account, its the same for real time and historical. I have bought a month subscription another trading software platform where the candlestick tick charts would change when refreshing data. It was then told me that FXCM has two servers, a real time server and a historical server with much more data. Does Sierra Chart also has this problem ?

If it does, does it also happen with LMAX account ? In extreme case I could change broker from fxcm to lmax.

Is it possible to use SierraChart in "free mode", with realtime forex data, just for charting ( no trading ) ? FXCM is not my primary/first broker, and my primary broker is not supported by Sierra Charts.

Also, I will be using SierraChart on linux. It seems to work well on linux through wine, will it always work on linux through wine in the future ?

Finally I tried simulating a payment using EURO Currency. In the paypal preview window, it always displayed "24 USD", not "24 EURO" or exact converted currency.

I am testing SierraChart with SCRealTimeForex and its working very well, doesn't seem to have any problems. Can I test SierraChart data and trading with my live FXCM account during the trial ?

Hi,

Been all day talking with FXCM support, and have LOD printed and signed. But in the latest chat, without explaining why, they told me that to use SierraChart, I would need to create a new FXCM account. Don't really understand why this is ( and also why previous support charts didn't mentioned it ), since my current account its a standard account already.

I am really liking SierraCharts ( only problem is a bug that happens on wine, but not on windows, involving the trade window ), already customized it to my perfect liking, so I am a little sad that this happened.

Can you guys freeze/disable for now my remaining days of trial until I sort my broker issues ?

We would not have known whether you need a new FXCM account or not. Only FXCM would know that.

We have heard about problems with the Trade Window on Wine.

When you want to resume just simply post here into this thread again and ask for a new trial. Or start a new Account Support Ticket:

Hi,

Today I contacted FXCM again to confirm if needed a secondary account and why. Today they told me it was not need a second account. They said that each account can only have an IB, and my account already had one, but that Sierra Chart classifies as technical provider and not IB ( I guess the previous fxcm support thought it classified as an IB ).

So, here is the LOD filled and signed. FXCM support told me that a good smartphone photo would do.

Hi,

Just received an email from fxcm, it seems the LOD was activated.... finally !

Hope I can test SierraChart with live account before trial ends, as I am looking at purchasing 1 year license directly.

Am I notified when SierraChart is ready to be used with my account ?

I just read this because I was browsing through SierraChart website, did not received email notifications.

Everything seems to be working well.

Please let me know if its possible to extend a few days of the trial. I am going to test it now, and monday and tuesday I will be away. Would be great if it could be extended to wednesday, thursday and friday next week. Should be more than enough to test it.

Sorry, I didn't noticed that it was extended ! May 10 is enough to test it with live fxcm account.

Thank you very much, I think everything is working, although I haven't done a trade yet, I was able to test it with some unfilled orders.

I also simulated/tested doing a purchase, credit card maestro with dalpay and price were in euros like requested. I think everything is ok.

Thank you for the extended days of trial. As they ended today ( it ended a day sooner because I tried testing the numbers bar study, which made me enable service 5 package ), I got to test SierraChart much better and liked it very much.

I am changing plans, as all the bad news about FXCM and yesterday's news that it might be removed from NASDAQ, I am submitting an account applications to LMAX.

Can I have an LMAX and FXCM account at the same time ? Is there a problem if I purchase a yearly license and then ask to enable/change to my LMAX trading account ?
Also can I ask if in the LMAX account, I do have proper Market Depth ( FXCM market depth as only 1 bid vs 1 ask all the time ) ?

Yes this is no problem. You can use either of the services at any time with your Sierra Chart account. You do not have to contact us for this. You will have full access to the available functionality of Sierra Chart.
