Hi There,

I've spent quite a bit of time on the support forum, and still to no avail. The "Master Mode" function in advanced settings 2 under chart linking appears to not be working.

My problem is I have 3 charts which are all linked "CL1" All three are linked based on chart symbol and scroll position. However in addition JUST #1, and #3 are additionally linked according to bar period. When I change the bar period on #2, they ALL change bar periods accordingly. I'm needing to configure so when I change bar period on #2, #1 & #3 remain unchanged.

Here's where I was deriving my understanding: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ChartSettings.html#MasterMode

Under this section the following example is given: "...For example, given charts #1 and #2, if Chart #1 has Link Symbol enabled and Chart #2 does not have Link Symbol enabled, without Master Mode enabled, when Chart #2 has its symbol changed, then the symbol of Chart #1 will change its symbol to match Chart #2 because it has Link Symbol enabled. When Master Mode is enabled and the symbol of Chart #2 is changed, the symbol of Chart #1 will not change because with Master Mode the Chart Linking options set on the controlling chart instead apply to other charts with the same Link Number. And in this particular example Chart #2 did not have Link Symbol enabled."

To test this, I proceeded to duplicate the same scenario above with 2 charts. Both of which were linked.
I tried 3 scenarios: 1) selecting Master Mode JUST for chart #1. 2) selecting Master Mode JUST for chart #2 3) selecting Master Mode on BOTH.
however in each scenario, when I changed the symbol in chart #2, it also changed it in Chart #1.

Please help :)

Yes we do see this.

Master Mode does work inconsistent with the documentation. Not sure if that was the intent. But we will change to be consistent with the documentation.

What instead happens currently is that in this particular case, because Link Symbol is set on Chart #1, the symbol of that chart is also changed.

Thanks for the response. So would it be safe to expect the changes to be incorporated on the next update?

If not, when would be a conservative ball park estimate on when?

Thanks!
