And what is the Alert Sound setting for it set to?

the alert is in a study

say it is set to alert 1

in global settings i have selected a wav
file (third party wav file) to play for
alert 1

i tested it - works fine there

but in the study alert 1 plays the prev wav file

prev wav file = i used sierra's built in sound file
in the alert sounds folder

in that folder i copy pasted my third party wav file

So long as you have assigned the correct sound file to the correct Alert Number in General Settings, there should not be any problem with this.
