On the Historical charts, When I try to apply the fib Extension on a chart it does not show me the values at the beginning of the application, but it does show the values at the final application.
Is there a setting that will show both values?

Also what is the symbol for the DOW on the historical charts

What you are describing really is impossible according to what we are understanding you are saying.

So you are saying you are using the Price Retracement tool and the text prices for each price level do not display until you complete the drawing? We cannot even reproduce this and it technically makes no sense.

First of all tell us the exact name of the drawing tool you are using. There is no drawing tool with the name fib extension.

After using the tool to make a drawing, post an image of the chart by following these instructions:

The symbol for the Dow Jones industrials is the same no matter what the chart data type is and it is $DOWI.

You are right, there is no drawing tool with the name fib extension.
It is the Price retracement tool that is giving me problems when using Sierra Chart Historical Data Service charts.

When I first try to apply the Price retracement tool to a chart the text prices do not appear until after I engage/start the application . So I am guessing at the desired starting point. As I continue to move to the second point the text price values appear prior to finishing the application. This allows me to get exact values at the end, but not at the beginning. Is there a setting to rectify this problem.

Ed

Thanks for the Dow symbol.

OK we think now we understand what you are describing.

Refer to the documentation here for the Chart Values Tool settings:

https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/Tools.html#ChartValuesToolSettings

Global Settings >> Tool Settings >> Chart Values.

You need to select this option:

I still have a problem after following your instructions.
I will try to explain the problem one more time, then I will give up.

Using the historical charts version of Sierra Charts, the chart value tool icon displays the Date, High, Low, Last, Vol, etc. in the upper right hand corner. That's great. It displays all these values as I move around on any chart i.e. the ES chart.

Now the problem. As soon as I attempt to use the Retracement tool the chart values do not show as I pick the first high or low but appear as I pick the second low or high, So I am guessing as I draw the fist stage of the Retracement tool while the second stage shows the chart values.

All this works fine in the Sierra charts version that updates via IB.

I tried to compare the setting in the Sierra charts version that updates via IB with the Historical version,
so far, no luck

If you can help - great,

Ed
