SierraChart using 90% of CPU Core Continuously After Update to 1495

I have an 8 core i7 and since I've updated to 1495, I notice that one of the cores is being pinned around 90% continuously and SierraChart is constantly using 15% of the entire CPU.

This has never been a problem in the past, just noticed it.

This is happening when markets are closed and there is no incoming real-time data.

One other thing I noticed is that if I change a study setting and click "apply" or "okay" when I'm done, it takes a few seconds for the dialogue box to close.

Any way to figure out what's causing this? Haven't created new charts or added any additional studies since updating.

Do you continue to notice this if you select File >> Disconnect?

Do you continue to notice this after closing all Chartbooks with File >> Close All Chartbooks?

Still there on File >> Disconnect

Goes away on File >> Close All Chartbooks

Will try to narrow it down to a specific chart through elimination. Thanks.

Wanted to ask a follow up to this because I can't seem to figure out what the problem is.

I've now gone through and done the following:

A) Deleted charts one at a time to try and find the problem chart. The problem doesn't disappear until all charts are gone.

B) I've gone through each chart and deleted all of the studies one by one on each. This took a long time but I run into the same issue. The problem still doesn't go away until all charts or the Chartbook is closed.

C) I've copied all charts over to a new Chartbook. Problem remains.

Is there any other way to troubleshoot this?

75 milliseconds. I've tried slowing this incrementally up to 200 milliseconds but the problem remains.

At this point we are not sure what the issue is. Go back to the prior version you are using and see if you notice the problem.

Just wanted to update on this.

Have recreated all charts from scratch and fairly certain this problem is originating from Study Price/Overlay.

Highest Core usage stays fairly stable (under 40%) until studies from other charts are added using Study/Price Overlay.

Can't seem to isolate to one study. Not sure if it's the cumulative effect from using multiple overlays or one study in particular.

At any rate, if you have time to look into this, would appreciate it. I'll keep digging as well.

In order for us to look into this we need a Chartbook from you which reproduces the problem.

Of course the problem could be completely normal based upon what the studies are doing and we may not be able to help with this other than to tell you what is causing the problem which requires that you make changes to the study configuration you are using.

I have also observed high CPU usage.
Also when closing a Spreadsheet and selecting YES to the dialog box 'Spreadsheet cannot be closed since a study is referencing it. Do you want to remove the study that references this Spreadsheet?'. Selecting YES to the following dialog box 'Save spreadsheet (spreadsheet name)? results in the error message log below. Observation: Only the spreadsheet study is removed - all the remaining studies in the study collection remain. If applying 'Clean Chart' study to charts first, and selecting 'YES' to the 'Save spreadsheet (spreadsheet name)?' dialog box, the problem does not occur.

It is very doubtful this is related. We are not aware of any high CPU usage problems within Sierra Chart. Refer to help topic 30:

Also when closing a Spreadsheet and selecting YES to the dialog box 'Spreadsheet cannot be closed since a study is referencing it. Do you want to remove the study that references this Spreadsheet?'. Re. post #10 error messages, isolated problem to Alert Condition formula in 'Color Background Based On Alert Condition' study.
Removing the formula appears to solve the issue.
The formula is basic. ID1.SG5>0
