I have also observed high CPU usage.

It is very doubtful this is related. We are not aware of any high CPU usage problems within Sierra Chart. Refer to help topic 30:

Also when closing a Spreadsheet and selecting YES to the dialog box 'Spreadsheet cannot be closed since a study is referencing it. Do you want to remove the study that references this Spreadsheet?'. Selecting YES to the following dialog box 'Save spreadsheet (spreadsheet name)? results in the error message log below. Observation: Only the spreadsheet study is removed - all the remaining studies in the study collection remain. If applying 'Clean Chart' study to charts first, and selecting 'YES' to the 'Save spreadsheet (spreadsheet name)?' dialog box, the problem does not occur.
