Hi,

I have tried asking this before and so far have found no solution. Would appreciate if you can help.

I am trying to get data from Trade Activity log about how far the price went against me and in favour of me. (see screenshot)

These should be the columns High Price while open and low price while open columns? Correct?

I am always getting value 0 in these columns. I am getting values in entry and exit efficiencies but this is not what I want. I want the high price and low price after entry.

On this page https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/TradeActivityLog.php

you state that

When using the Order Fill Calculated Trade Positions, the Highest/Lowest Price During Positions and the High Price While Open and Low Price While Open fields will be zero, meaning that the Trades fields which rely on them will be 0.

Mine is not switched on (Order Fill Calculated Trade Positions) and I am still getting zeros. Am I missing something please?

Thank you

Make sure that Trade >> Use Fill Calculated Positions-Global is unchecked.

If you still have a problem:

We need to see a screenshot of the entire Trade Activity Log when that Trades tab is selected.

You can attach it privately.

We also need to get your Trade Activity Log file. Here are instructions:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/TradeActivityLog.php#TradeActivityLogFileToSupport

And we need to know the time zone setting you have Sierra Chart set to.

I added both requests privately. Yes Use Calulcated Positions-Global is 100% unchecked. I tried both with any without many times and never managed to resolve this issue.

Would appreciate your input and hopefully a resolution of this issue.

Many thanks

Hi,

Did you have a look at the files I sent you last friday please? I need to find out why the High and Low aren't printing in the Trade Log as I have tried everything possible to get this info printing in the Trades tab.

Thank you

There is nothing we can do with the existing order fills which have already been logged.

The reason the High and Low Price during Position values apparently are not being updated during a position in some cases is because you had a chart replaying.

This limitation will be removed in the next release.

Thank you for your reply. I don't think this is related to replaying .. haven't used replaying for a while and I never managed to see the high and low price being printed. I'm not sure how you nailed this to just being a replaying issue unless I'm missing something.

Can the high and low price while open be calculated after executions (historical) from broker fills or are they only calculated during the trade? So do the trades need to come from Sierra Dom or could they be executed on other Dom. I have tried both and didn't work in both cases. I'm referring to both live and broker paper acs not Sierra SIM environments.

I really need this issue resolved because I need to move forward and get some automated stats on my trades.

Thank you

Yes this is correct.

So do the trades need to come from Sierra Dom
Yes this is correct. If the opening and closing fill are the result of orders outside of Sierra Chart, then this will also be the source of the problem as well.

Wait for our next release, and see if you continue to notice the issue because we did a comprehensive review, and made a couple of changes.

Ok thanks will try this out.. shall I download a prelease sometime next week please?

I would have thought that trades could be executed outside Sierra and still show Mae and mfe because they do show as active trades on sierra. I tried also from Sierra directly but no joy.

On a further note related to historical fills... how can this be done for historical? Preferably I could have data at least this basic data for historical trades. I tried exporting "trading:position" and "total trades" studies on a tick chart and although I managed to get to some data in simple all in all out trades, the above mentioned indicators have no subgraphs or settings to identify a flat to flat positions for trades with multiple legs which makes things difficult. Is there hope you could improve in this and have a study or something that could be exported with ohlc data to show the actual fill prices, order type and most importantly a "flat to flat" trade open and trade close subgraph or study?

Many thanks for your time

One thing we realize is that when using Flat to Flat order fill grouping, the High/Low Price While Open fields are not displayed. This has been fixed in version 1500. At this time we recommend updating to that version.

This is not clear for us.

We could add the capability for charts to use Flat to Flat order fill grouping instead of Fill to Fill.

Ok I finally see the High and Low price while trade is open. Thank you so much for fixing this.
However, I am seeing issues on a lot of entries, and I am attaching an example (highpricewhileopen.png). Can you comment on this please? Unfortunatley I can't use this data if it is not accurate.

To answer your question, I am attaching a chart that would make the idea more clear.

"We could add the capability for charts to use Flat to Flat order fill grouping instead of Fill to Fill." SC
- Yes exactly this would partially solve the problem

1) I have added the comments on the chart directly. Basically what I am asking for is to have an indicator on chart that shows when a trade (possibly with multiple legs) was opened and flat again - so that when I export OHLC data of this chart I can exclude where Trade position != 0 and have a list of flat to flat trades that I can then compare to the Flat to Flat trade Log.

2) I am also asking if it is possible to export in text format combined with OHLC data, the fill price and Order type for each fill so that I know exactly the price I entered at for each leg.

I hope this is more clear now. If you can sort the last 2 points I can get the data myself from tick data.

Thank you for help.

The High/Low Price While Open may not always be accurate and it is based upon the captured data. Analysis of specific cases is a chargeable support request at 75 USD per hour. We have already done our technical review and done everything we can to make sure the values are captured to the extent possible.

This is a chargeable support and development request. Although it is not something we have any time to get involved in.

This is not a bug. You need to refer to the information here about this:

Refer to the highlighted section at the beginning of the section.

Just disregard that information on the Trade Stats for Charts tab.

However, you just need to clear the order fills for the Symbol and Trade Account:
