Time Duration of Prior Range Bars

With regard to a Range Bar chart, I use the Bar Time Duration study (hidden) with a Text Display for Study to provide a numeric readout of the elapsed time of the current (in progress) Range Bar.

I would like be able to place my cursor on any prior Range Bar in the chart and get a numeric readout of the duration of that closed prior bar - much as I am able to place my cursor on any prior bar in a chart and and get a numeric readout of the Bid and Ask volume within that bar in my Tool Values Window. Whether displayed in the Tool Values Window or numerically on my chart (as the Text Display for Study does for the current bar) is there a way for me to accomplish what I am trying to do?

I don't have room on my chart to display an additional region for the Bar Time Duration study, and reading a numeric display of the time (or volume) within an individual prior bar is more efficient for me than referencing a separate bar chart.

Presently, I can place my cursor on any bar and get its start time from X axis (time a the bottom of the chart), then place my cursor on the next bar and get its start time, then subtract the first bar start time from the second bar start time in my head (this is what I currently do), but it would be more efficient to just place my cursor on the bar I want the time of and get a numeric read out of that time.

Thanks for any help.

To do what you want you cannot hide the study. The Bar Time Duration study does have to be on the chart in some way.

What you can do is set it to display in Chart Region 1. Set the Subgraph >>Draw Style to Ignore. And set the Scale Range to Independent:
Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Opening the Scale Settings Window For a Study

This way you can still see the values in the Chart Values window but it will not show on the chart.

Following your instructions, I see the range bar start time for whatever range bar I place the Crosshair on, but it does not give me the total time length of that bar. Is there some other change/addition I need to make, or is the start time for any selected bar all the information I will be able to get?

Thanks again.

We tested this and it does work.

Review the instructions on this page to make sure the settings which can hide the Bar Time Duration study Subgraph values from being displayed in the Chart Values Windows are not disabled:
Hiding Study and Main Price Graph Names and Values from the Values Windows and Region Data Line

And make sure you look at all of the information in the Tool Values Window to make sure you have not missed this:
