Server Side OCO Failure, and Incorrect Position/Missing Fill Data after Connection Reset

v1473, pkg 3, Rithmic, through Amp, server side OCO enabled. While in a position, lost internet, one side of OCO hit, position closed while disconnected. Multiple problems resulted: 1. Without connection, server side OCO failed to function, unfilled side of OCO remained working at exchange. Was lucky to be able to cancel it manually in this case after connection restored. 2. SC never received the order fill that occurred while disconnected, even after connection restored, disconnect/reconnect to trade service, refresh trade data function, and even restarting SC, position still remains open in SC, while broker confirms flat. 3. Global PnL Management as documented will malfunction in this case. Any way to prevent this? Will it even accidentally enter a new position while trying to flatten a non-existent incorrect position?

1. If you are certain the OCO order was on the server side, then contact your broker about this. The Trade Activity Log will indicate if it was a server-side OCO: Trade Activity Log So you need to find out if the Rithmic server did not handle the OCO properly. 2. OK. There is no guarantee this will happen. 3. It is not going to flatten a nonexistent Trade Position because the Position should no longer exist in Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions and the determination of what Positions exist is always from that tab. Although it will take about five seconds for that tab to update upon a connection and there is the possibility a flatten command could be automatically sent before then. 1. Where exactly in the Activity Log will a server-side OCO be indicated? If Use Server-Side OCO and Bracket Orders is checked, why would it not be used, with Rithmic through Amp?

1. This is indicated in the Order Action Source text with the order. It will say something like "server-side OCO". As long as the option is enabled, it should be used. Sadly we realize the reason for this problem. The server-side OCO orders are not being passed through to the Rithmic API. We just sent this message over to Rithmic now about this: As you know Sierra Chart has used the R API + for about a couple of years now. The only thing used in that API is OCO orders. Although it has just come to our attention that since the beginning of July, the OCO orders have not been used through the API but yet brokers have been paying for this feature. The reason this happened is that there were some changes that were made that were never actually compiled into the external bridge program which interfaces to the API because of the problems we encountered compiling the bridge program which uses your API. This is one reason why we do not like API components. There was an unresolved conflict which was difficult to resolve due to an incompatibility and we still have yet to resolve it. This is one reason why we dislike Rithmic. It is always a struggle dealing with these external API components. We were not even aware that effectively the OCO orders had gotten disabled due to the changes and the failure to compile the bridge program due to the conflict. Actually we came up with a simple solution to reenable the Server-side OCO orders when using Rithmic. We will get this out tomorrow. Update: We released the change in the second revision of 1476.
