Yes. Use the Difference study:

Thank you for the help. I need it however in it's own separate chart and need to add a ratio to the formula (for example : 3 NQ - 2 ES = X)

Is that possible?

It becomes its own separate chart when you enable the Display as Main Price Graph setting on the study. The documentation does explain this.

The Difference study also supports multipliers for each symbol.

Ok understood. But it overtakes my chart which i still need to see the underlying. Should I just duplicate the chart and remove the formula off of the original after?

So for example i am trying to plot this formula (nq*4) - (es*5) = x

but instead of producing a number in the thousands it produces a ratio number 1.81

can you tell me what i am doing wrong?

appreciate the help

This is what we see:

This consists of Historical Daily charts, but you can always set the chart bars to an Intraday timeframe.

Example Chartbook is attached. Follow the instructions here:

That is perfect! Thank you. I went to duplicate the chart to get it into different intraday time frames like 5 min, 15 min. But under chart, chart settings, main settings, chart data type: intraday chart. I get a "failed" message with a blank screen.

Does it only work under historical charting? Also, would I have to redo the chart with every symbol change of the ES & NQ?

Really appreciate your help, feel so close to getting what i need. Thanks again!

You will need to change the symbol of the chart to match the particular Data or Trading service you are using. Refer to help topic 1.3:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails1.php#h1.3

You do not need to redo the settings if you change the symbols of the charts. You only need to change the symbols.

Great thanks for the information. Can you please answer my question as to why it wouldn't work when I switched from historical to intraday? Is it because the chartbook you created was done with daily charts? I am looking to also make a 3 min, 15 min, 60 min chart.

Thx!

This is from the documentation here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/helpdetails1.php#h1.3

Each of the supported Data and Trading services has their own symbology. Therefore, a symbol for one particular service may not match with another service and will not work. This can be a problem when sharing a Chartbook because the Chartbook may use a symbol which is correct for one particular Data/Trading service but is not correct for the service being used by the user receiving the Chartbook. This can be solved by simply changing the symbol of existing charts which is explained further below.

symbol is correct, exactly the same as the daily chart that works. what should i check next?
[2016-10-18 18:35:09]
Sierra Chart Engineering - Posts: 104368
It is not correct and what help topic 1.3 explains is that the symbols are different between different Data and Trading services and to use the symbols found in File >> Find Symbol. Read through that help topic again. It provides very clear instructions on what to do.

Additionally, even though the symbol works on the historical Daily chart, it is actually not really the correct symbol for the service being used.

ok, that issue is solved.

but when i type in the formula above (nq*2)- (es*2.5), the resulting number is almost double

or example (4850*2) - (2136.75*2.5) = 9700 - 5341.875 = 4358.125

but the number on my chart that a sierra chart engineer helped create is 9698. what am i missing? should cutting the multipliers in half work?

The formula given in post #16 is different than the formula previously specified.

You need to set the Multipliers appropriately. Here is the documentation for the Difference (Bar) study:
