Replay chart delay

Hello!

I have a problem with replay mode. I use six charts for my analysis of indices (4 x NQ, 1 x YM, 1 x ES). When I click on PLAY button, after a while, four of my charts appear and start to move. But, another two charts (2M ES and 30M NQ) are still loading data. Eventually appear, but they are delayed. Sometimes up to 2 minutes! I would like to know how to synchronize these charts? At this moment, I'm not able to use my intermarket analysis because of this issue. Please help me. Thank you!

Just for clarification, I use standard replay.

This is very unusual and does not make technical sense other than possibly for the reasons explained in the sections below: However, we really do not know exactly what is happening unless can see exactly what is happening ourselves.

Help topic 30:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

It sounds as though there is a high CPU usage problem you need to solve.

Refer to this section here about synchronization:

We looked into this problem further and can find no issue with the way that Sierra Chart handles replays and synchronizing charts. So the information given in post #2 is the best answer.

I get this as well, my charts don't synchronise and I find that the replay freezes at empty periods. Even with "Skips empty periods" enabled. It's especially bad with weekends. This is replaying continuous futures data. I'm not sure about other data types. I've found that the better way to view a "replay" is to actually reload the data and watch it appear in all the windows simultaneously. It also "Skips empty periods" perfectly

Here's a brief 20 second video showing it loading the data anew.

https://webmshare.com/nqDAw

There's no pausing and I see all 6 screens of data loading in perfect sync. Unfortunately I cant use this to run backtests

I just wish this is how the replays behaved. But with a speed control of course.

Some of what you are saying is not making sense to us including the video.

In any case, the behaviors that you see with regards to delays and loss of synchronization is all explained here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/ReplayChart.html#SkippingData

That section explains how to maintain continuous synchronization between multiple charts which are replaying.

Ah sorry. I'll try to be more clear.

I have 6 charts in my chartbook and I find that my replays are often not synchronous across those 6 charts. There can be hours, minutes or days of difference between my different charts during a replay. Some charts start updating long before the other charts have even begun.

In addition to this problem, I also find that the "Skip Empty Periods" toggle option in the chart replay dialog is not effective. The chart updates pause for a long time at weekends for example.

I've made another video to let you see what a standard replay looks like. You'll notice that the updates stop each evening and for a long time at weekends. This is continuous DAX futures

The video in my previous comment showed the behaviour when the chart is loading new data. Not doing a replay. I find that the data appears in all of my chart windows simultaneously, they update perfectly, they are synchronous. You can also see that the charts skip the empty periods perfectly with no delays occurring at evenings and weekends.

The documentation says this:

When you have enabled For All Charts in Chartbook and you have selected Accurate Trading System Back Test Mode for the Replay Mode, then in this case there is a multiple chart synchronized replay being performed. The Skip Empty Periods option does not apply in the case. In this case the charts are always kept synchronized regardless of the Skip Empty Periods setting.

This is what you need to do.

In addition to this problem, I also find that the "Skip Empty Periods" toggle option in the chart replay dialog is not effective. The chart updates pause for a long time at weekends for example.
The documentation also explains this as well. We also need a definition of "long time". This should be less than 65 seconds.

thanks, I just tried that and it seems to be good. I thought I tried all the options when I first encountered this but maybe I didn't try the "Accurate Trading System Back Test Mode". I've not been able to run a proper repeat test because unfortunately my charts are configured differently now.

Anyway, Thanks for your help!
